A contract may allow a brand to use the athlete’s name, image, voice, signature or created content. Families should identify exactly which rights are granted, on what platforms, in which geographic areas and for how long.

Paid advertising, sublicensing, editing and use after termination can be more valuable than a single organic post. Ask whether the athlete can review final materials and whether old campaigns must be removed.

Unauthorized use may require evidence gathering and qualified legal guidance. Save original content, approvals and screenshots showing where material appeared.
