High-school NIL rules can vary by state, athletic association and school. Before an athlete accepts an opportunity, confirm the current requirements with authoritative sources and the school’s appropriate contact.

Parents should pay special attention to use of school marks, prohibited categories, representation rules and whether activities can occur during team events. Minors require additional consent, privacy and contracting safeguards.

Avoid promises that connect compensation to enrollment, performance or recruiting decisions. When the rules are unclear, pause and seek qualified guidance.

Protect their opportunity. Prepare for their future.
