Common examples include appearances, endorsements, social content, camps and licensed merchandise. NIL is not a payment for athletic performance, enrollment or a promise to attend a particular school.
Every opportunity should identify the contracting parties, compensation, deliverables, timing, usage rights and termination terms. Families should also confirm applicable school, conference, state and other governing requirements using current authoritative sources.
Parents can help by organizing information and encouraging deliberate review. For an adult athlete, however, the athlete controls contracts, finances and access unless authorization is granted. Educational tools can improve questions but do not replace qualified professional advice.
