Review the company’s history, ownership, website, social channels and public reputation. Understand what product or service the athlete would promote and whether it aligns with personal values and applicable restrictions.

Ask who controls creative decisions, what claims the athlete must make and whether content must include advertising disclosures. Confirm the campaign timeline, approval process, compensation and measurable deliverables.

Consider long-term reputation and future conflicts. Short-term compensation may not justify broad exclusivity or permanent association with a product.
