Building an Athlete Mental-Health Support Plan

Identify trusted contacts, early warning signs, workload boundaries and crisis resources in advance.

A support plan identifies people the athlete trusts, routine wellness practices and signs that additional help may be needed. It should respect privacy while making it easier to act when stress becomes disruptive.

Include school resources, licensed professionals and appropriate crisis contacts. Consider how travel, public criticism, brand deadlines and financial pressure affect the athlete’s capacity.

In immediate danger or a mental-health crisis, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource. Educational content and Help Desk tickets are not emergency care.
